Yarnda Engineering Service is an Indigenous owned and operated Engineering Service based in Perth and developing a workshop in Port Hedland. Yarnda Engineering was created by Darren Baumgarten, a Ngarluma Kariyarra man from the Pilbara region of Western Australia and Johnathon Perry, a Nyamal man as who is also from the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Yarnda Engineering Service specialises in Fixed Plant shutdowns and Maintenances services in the mining industry. Our vision is to build a strong Indigenous and non-Indigenous Engineering workforce known for our dedication in serving the Pilbara region with quality work.

Yarnda Engineering Services management understands its responsibility for the implementation and reviews of its workplace policies. To make sure all policies and procedures meet the Occupational Health and Safety regulations and associated onsite regulations. The business directors and management will delegate these responsibilities to ensure safety for all personnel. Further, Yarnda Engineering Service is committed to regular consultation with staff and clients to ensure workplace safety procedures and policies are implemented. In addition, Yarnda’s management will make sure projects and tasks are met on time and efficiently without compromise to safety.

Darren Baumgarten
Managing Director



Darren Baumgarten is a proud Indigenous man from the Ngarluma Kariyarra country. He is the founder and managing director of Yarnda Engineering Service. Darren has over 10 years’ working experience in the manufacturing and mining industry. Over this time Darren has gained invaluable skills and knowledge of coordinating all aspects of the mechanical and structural engineering tasks. To make sure the projects, timelines are met in a safe and timely manner. Darren is a driven and motivated individual who takes pride in his work and that is why he is more capable in all aspects to bring the skills and knowledge in creating a client focused business with safety as a top priority.



Jonhathon Perry
Director



Johnathon Perry is a proud and well respected Nyamal man from the Pilbara region. He respects his country and his long-lived cultural beliefs and traditions, Johnathon has been in the civil, mining and earthmoving industry for over six years, over this time he has gained exceptional knowledge and skills in operating machinery as well as undertaking the mechanical repairs and maintenance of the following HD machinery including trucks, trailer and light vehicles. Johnathon adheres to all policies and procedures onsite and offsite. He is a flexible individual that follows instructions for each unique job assigned to him, he works well with others and takes initiative on his own when the situation calls for it. He is reliable, team oriented and an excellent multitasker.
